Imperial works is located within a small alley way in Perren Street, Kentish Town and was formerly one of the last functioning piano manufacturing factories in existence with 3 upper floors and a basement. The building was designed to allow pianos to be moved from floor to floor via a central lift.

The Thornton Partnership Ltd were contracted to carry out a complete refurbishment and to construct a new rooftop extension from timber with a striking slatted facade giving stunning views over central London. The works comprised of new mechanical and electrical installations and new WCs. New Crittall windows were installed throughout to replace existing together with bespoke Schueco sliding windows installed at roof level leading to the roof terrace.
