The Works

The Former Companies House offices were commissioned to undergo a supported scheme of redevelopment, aiming to create light workspace environments with a statement central courtyard. The Thornton Partnership was on hand to provide modern office refurbishment, along with a clean and fresh external courtyard space in line with the client’s brand image and design specifications.

Following consultations with the project team, we began upgrades and remodelling of the required spaces. The project was completed with high-end finishes and a focus on light to complement the external courtyard, a key feature of a central London office space.

The Challenge

The works were carried out to a building with little information on existing structure and services. External works which create noise can also prove to be difficult in a built central area due to the possible disturbance of neighbouring businesses.

Our solution

The Thornton Partnership assisted and facilitated a full range of validations and surveys to ensure the construction and engineering teams were given informative and structured detail on the existing conditions. Noise controls were implemented to best suit the environment and works scheduled.

All of which took comprehensive organisation and planning. Consultation and a robust structure of communication were employed to ensure all stakeholders felt informed and the works could progress smoothly and to programme.
